Terms & Conditions

Introduction

In booking the Hall you agree to accept the Terms & Conditions laid out below. They are pretty off puting, but without without them hiring the hall would be more expensive, or perhaps not hirable at all.

Terms & Conditions

In these Terms & Conditions "PCC" means Linslade Parochial Church Council or any of its Officers.

  1. Fees (including deposit) are payable prior to use; the return of the deposit is at the discretion of the PCC.

  2. No-one on the premises before the time booked commences and everyone must be off the premises by the end of the booked time; it must be understood that booked times must include the time for setting up at the start and clearing up at the end of the event.

    N.B. Events are to finish by 11p.m. with the hall to be completely vacated by 11.30p.m.

  3. Prior to use both doors are to be unlocked: the back door is the fire exit.

  4. After use the hirer must tidy the hall and everything in the checklist completed.

  5. The kitchen does not meet Health and Safety standards and therefore food must not be cooked or prepared in it, and any food offerred must arrive pre-wrapped.

  6. Alcohol maybe given - but if sold a licence must be obtained by the person in charge of the event, not by the PCC.

  7. The urn is for heating hot water only--it is not a teapot--and is to be left empty after use.

  8. Children are not to run riot in the car park: the hall has neighbours.

  9. The hall is an old building with no current facility to fully meet the needs of the disabled. There are no Disabled toilet facilities and access for Wheelchairs, pushchairs and those with walking difficulties is only via the rear (Fire) door.

  10. Hirers are responsible for insuring their meeting/party/activity and no liability for loss/damage/injury is accepted by the PCC.

  11. No liability is accepted for vehicles in the car park by the PCC.

  12. Evacuation:

    In the event of a fire, or other hazard, hirers are responsible for for evacuation procedures - and should take note of paragraph (9) above, with regard to people with disabilities.

  13. Cancellations:

    1. If the PCC needs to cancel a booking, it undertakes to give a minimum of three months notice - advice of pre-booked speakers, etc., would assist in minimising inconvenience.

    2. Hirers should also be aware that the Hall is the only designated Polling Station in the Ward and can be requisitioned by the Electoral Roll Officer at short notice.

    In the event of a cancellation a refund will be provided, but no other compensations, losses or damages will be payed by the PCC

  14. Double Bookings:

    In the event of the hall being double-booked the hirer whose event was cancelled will have their payment refunded and be offered a meeting free of charge at the first available date but no other compensations, losses or damages will be payed by the PCC
